My Top Ten This Year
I sent it off and was too dopey to keep a copy, so hopefully this will all jibe. But, jeez, it's not like the world will end if it doesn't.
Ablums!
Voivod - Katorz
Lamb of God - Sacrament
The Left - Jesus Loves the Left
Zebulon Pike - Zebulon Pike II: The Deafening Twilight
Korpiklaani - Tales Along This Road
Witchcraft - Firewood
The Keene Brothers - Blues and Boogie Shoes
Enslaved - Ruun
BellRays - Have A Little Faith
Rebel Meets Rebel - Rebel Meets Rebel
Snigles!
Dragonforce - Through The Fire And The Flame
T.I. - Why Ya Wanna
Satyricon - K.I.N.G.
BellRays - Have A Little Faith
Katatonia - Soil's Song
Records that will make next year's top 10 no problem:
Michael Yonkers and The Blind Shake: Carbohydrates/Hydrocarbons
The next Korpiklaani record
Biggest Disappointments:
The segue between Grupo Fantasma and Enslaved Minneapolis never got to hear because my DJ gig at Loring Park was rained out. Phooey.
And...someone please remove the brain parasites from Bubba Sparxxx and Timbaland's heads so they can kiss and make up for "Deliverance: Part II". "Promiscuous", bah. "Miss New Booty", my, er, ass.
Resolutions:
Will buy Agalloch CDs (weird Portland Viking-metal acolytes) and new Ornette Coleman CD, as well as Windur and "Wolverine Blues" era Entombed. Will spend less on shoes this year and more on music. Unless the shoes are really, really cute.
Slayer didn't make any of my top ten this year (unless we can pretend it's 1988 and South of Heaven just came out). But I got a really cool pic of Mr. Tom Araya whilst being pelted by snuff cans during the Unholy Alliance tour. Hint: When the bouncers say "NO FLASH PICTURES", they are not kidding around.
